OFFICIAL: 2012/2013 Citroen DS9 full-size luxury sedan to be produced!
72Despite the relative lack of success of the current Citroen C6, Citroen remains positive enough about the current European executive luxury saloon (sedan) market that they plan to produce the beautiful Citroen Metropolis concept as the DS range-topping NEW, 7-series and S-class fighting Citroen DS9! PSA design boss Jean-Pierre Ploue made no bones or uncertainties in his statements to Autocar.co.uk when he said, "We cannot afford to let the likes of Audi, Mercedes and BMW forge into Citroën’s heartland supermini territory without fighting back and pushing into theirs". He also told Autocar, "“Selling large luxury cars in Europe is not easy at the moment, but I believe Citroën has a great deal more to bring to the market. “A large, characterful DS flagship model — we could call it a DS9 to reference the original DS19 — could do great things for us.”
Expect the pretty new Citroen luxury sedan in showrooms around 2013, competing against the VW Phaeton, Bimmer and Benz, as well as the Hyundai Equus and Lexus LS460. Don't expect an American release, as Citroen has made no indications about making a return to the American market.
Would you buy this over the BMW 7-series and Mercedes-Benz S-class??

Le grosse Citroen mi sono sempre piaciute! Sin da quando ero ragazzo restavo affascinato dalle “DS”, poi le “CX” e ancora le “XM”! Ricordo che stavo ultimando l’Università quando presentarono la “XM”, io andai a vederla con 2 amici e mi piacque tanto. Anni dopo, nel 1995, ne acquistai una in versione 2.000 injection che per la verità si rivelò piuttosto cagionevole di meccanica, con visite troppo frequenti dal meccanico. Poi nel 1999, non essendoci una nuova ammiraglia Citroen, acquistai una Alfa Romeo “166" (e ne fui molto soddisfatto) e nel 2004 una Jaguar che guido tuttora. Però ho sempre cercato una ammiraglia Citroen e quando commercializzarono la “C6" andai li dove ero andato a vedere la “XM” e volli provarla! Il modello era un 2.700 executive. Debbo dire che ci ritrovai tutte le belle cose della “XM” notevolmente migliorate! Ottima tenuta di strada, spazio interno, agilità e precisione nella guida, motore brioso e interni molto lussuosi. La linea mi rendo conto che non a tutti può piacere. A me tutto sommato piace, anche se ritengo che nella parte posteriore si poteva fare di più! Sicuramente alla guida della “C6" ci si distingue dalla massa (tutti con le solite, belle, tedesche!!!). Ora guido ancora la mia Jaguar, però quando sarà il momento di cambiare auto, prevedo per l'estate 2011, un pensiero alla “C6" lo farò. ma forse..... temo che alla fine cederò al fascino di una Bmw "Serie 5" ultimo modello!

BMW like Mercedes are stail and unable to create a new stlye car around their old style grills, both need a new fresh look. Unlike Citroen that can creat wonderous cars fresh looks, suttle reminders of past Citroen glories and as always be destinctive.
Hi, gents! It seem luxurious but needs some edition.as a case in point wheels are not so luxury as expected.try to widthen the chrome lines of doors to be seen from distance.
Citroën's men are to glance more carefully at what make a sedan seem luxurious,I see less than half of a full-size luxury sedan's features around it's exterior.Check it to make a real flagship in the compani's history. Sorry for I was so FRANK!
