Lately, thanks to the kick in the pants provided by companies such as Cricket Wireless and Virgin, everybody is offering unlimited cell phone plans. With unlimited phone plans, you never have to worry about using too many minutes, going on the internet too much, sending and receiving text and picture messages or video messages, or really, doing almost anything to up the cost of your bill, because these new plans give you real unlimited everything. From Sprint's Simply Unlimited plan to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc and their similar plans, there is a lot of competition.

So how do they stack up?

So the most popular, most profitable cell phone companies come out as the big losers. Cricket Wireless wins in 2 out of 3 categories, offering by far the cheapest unlimited calling plan, and by a little, the unlimited talk, text, picture and video messaging categories, though for unlimited everything, Boost is unbeatable.

Keep in mind when considering these plans, however, that the contracts that you sign up for with the big carriers (Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon) will usually get you much more expensive phones for much lower prices - sometimes free, as my 2 Blackberry Curve 8330s were with my Sprint plan - phones that would have cost 600 dollars through Virgin.
