Backyard Monsters is a popular and fast growing new Facebook game of the 'tower defense' genre, taking a genre that has been made popular by Desktop Tower Defense, and building upon it to make a much more in depth, yet still easy-to-play and very addicting game. It can be a tough game to win at, and sometimes wild monster attacks that occur when you're offline can seem overwhelming, and shiny can seem tough to come upon (and having your buildings and monsters destroyed by offline attacks can be frustrating), but these tips and strategies can help you defend your backyard, increase your strength and your shiny and protect yourself. Read on for tips and tricks...
A big thing is, getting shiny, and normally to get more shiny, you need to spend your real-life money on it. But to easily get more shiny for free, if you have mushrooms in your back yard, simply click on the mushroom, and select 'pick' to pick your mushrooms. They can earn you shiny simply for picking them, between 3 and 10 shiny at a time. This is the easiest way to gain, save and collect shiny for free.
Take advantage of all of your protection time. You get 14 days when you first start out, 12 hours if your base gets attacked and takes damage to the degree that it totals between 30 and 60 percent, 24 hours if your base takes even worse damage, and you can spend either 25 shiny on 24-hour protection or 175 shiny on 7 days worth of protection. Use this time to the fullest extent. And remember: if you attack anyone during your protection time, you lose your protection.
Even better: spend 700 shiny on 28 days worth of protection. Use all of this protected time to bank resources and build up a strong base. You can very easily be all the way up to level 35 by the time all of your protection has been used already. This makes it very easy to build a super-powerful base and unlock loads of monsters, and build up a rich array of resources. Best of all, you'll easily earn back that Shiny with all of the various time log in bonuses. Bank your free shiny bonuses into buying protection time, and you'll be able to continuously bank resources and build up your base to stratospheric strength.
You can only be attacked when you are logged out of Backyard Monsters, so even when you are not playing the game, make sure to always be checking and reloading the game. You'll be prompted by the game if you are inactive for too long, but you keep reloading, you will stay logged in.
Keep an eye on what kind of free offers will earn you more shiny. Many of them require no credit card and no payments or commitment by you (some are just youtube videos) so take the free ones.
Also, if you play with 2 accounts, you can use one to attack the other until it hits 60 percent, then end the attack, and you'll earn 12 hours of free protection for relatively little damage.

A simple way to cheat is to create multiple accounts ''that is face book accounts and you can use your primary face book account and add your fake ones as friends to get shiny "You get shiny for the more friends you invite to the game" But trust me this takes a lot of time because to create a new facebook you need a differnt email for each one "a good tip is if you do this is to use the same information such as the following: passwords,secuirty,qustions,age Ect.oh yeah you can use your fake accounts to attack the other ones to build your resourses. but this gets aggravating because your constantly logging in and out of differnt accounts

Cheat engine will not work on this game, cos its online. To those who don't know what it is, it changes values. Like 1000Hp to 10000000Hp. Simple as that.
@Mellie Choose the monsters u want to send by click the + sign. Try one first to get used to it. Move the circle to a place that is a reasonable distance away from other buildings and it turns white. Then click to send ur monsters to that spot.
@Im If you were attacked your buildings would be damaged and you will get a notification of who attacked. Its very obvious. If you don't see a thing then u weren't attacked
u can go through getting resources by attacking enemies. this is my 3rd day and im level 23

and after that he cannot attack me anymore because he destroyed my buildings what i mean is i am now in (damaged protection mode)....
so what will happen if i would not play backyard monster what i mean is i will not log-in or play that game....would i still be in that damaged protection mode after many days that i didnt played that game,,,WOULD THAT DAMAGED PROTECTION MODE WILL NOT EXPIRE ? i read this whole thing and got nothing but bullshit....HERE IS A GLITCH TO THE GAME...i was playing and upgrading things while my laptop went flat and shut down...i hit system restore when i plugged it back in, therefore the page was still there, when i reconnected to the internet the page didnt realise id went ofline and started skiping and jumping while it was still fully loading...i looked at my upgrades and noticed they were flying the minutes were ticking by like seconds.....this only stayed working for about 5-6 minutes but still its a glitch lol''
This game is elementary. Depending on what your next plan is..is what you should upgrade next. The Town Hall should always be your primary building to upgrade. Next should be your defensive towers (Guns) with Mines placed in front of all the above. Eventually, you'll need to place walls around your primary buildings and guns. The best defensive postions are in the middle of your yard-away from the perimeter. It can be useful having ONE other account but I wouldn't personally create more than one or you'll never get any work done on your main account or have a real life outside the game. Cityville cheat unrelised.
Steps:
Go into CityVille and make several empty plots like the image above.
Download the required files from the links above and replace the files in the CityVilleBot folder. (You will replace 2 files in codebase-php folder, and you will paste/replace the entire SpecialItems folder into the Plugins folder)
Start CityVilleBot. You should now see a SpecialItems tab. (if you did not, you have probably replaced something wrongly)
If you have empty plots, the bot will have detected it and you will see something like my screenshot below.

Now just select the building you want and click Save.
Let the bot complete it on the SECOND run. You can only place 1 building each run, so just wait till you see the bot logging "SpecialItem starting...place special item stepskyscraper"

As you mentioned, staying logged in is like free protection but you have to stay active.

I like back yard monsters hell it's the best game on facebook besides poker but the one thing they could do better on with all the upgrades there doing right now is fix the block situation, While building blocks for your base why can't you select a box drag it arcross the screen(saying you need a wall which would be 10 blocks)and click from point A(beening the begining of the wall) to point B ( ending of the wall) and just charge you the twigs, stones or time in all one lump sum.

Ok, I haven't been playing for too long but I was one of the dumb ones that didn't take a 3rd worker at the start. I didn't see the option and I used all my shiny for upgrades and stuff so now I've been getting close to the 500 shiny mark just using mushrooms and when I signed up for netflix. The problem I am having is when ever I reach like 466 shiny, I log back in a day or 2 later and I'm back at 446? Anyone know what is going on? Like I said, have only been playing a couple months. Do you lose shiny when people attack you? I hope not cause that doesn't seem right. Anyone help? I just want a third worker without having to spend real money.

i like the game but i need alot of shinny to upgrade town hall fast
you can also make multiple accounts and upgrade all your resources on one and attack that account with high level resources so you get a bunch of free resources and that will make you level up faster
plus don't waste your shiny on speed ups Vlad. Use your shiny for more workers, expanding your yard or improve packing skills. if you want to upgrade something that takes a long time do it at night and get off. it will upgrade overnight. you are not supposed to stay on to wait for your upgrade/build is done. that is such a waste of time. also try to NOT level up and try to level up your resources,silos,town hall,unlock more monsters,housings,monster lockers,defense towers etc. because if you achieve lets say a level 4 town hall at level 19, chances are a few people are at level 4 town hall mostly level 3 town hall so it would be easy to murder their yard and no one will dare attack you because of the new laser and tesla. also try to upgrade 1 resource of each to a really high level like level 8 or something early in the game so every time it is full you get 200,000 and that will fill up most of your silos. plus don't waste your shiny on damage protection. use another account to attack you. if you are in damage protection you will be tempted to attack someone and you might end up wasting it. also here are some tips for designing a base, use snipers to defend your resources, because they have long range and there are quite a few resources and put them on the outside. also use teslas to defend your town hall and silos but make them also in the range of the resources (if possible) put lasers on the inside because of its low health and high damage. put your town hall in the range of some lasers, some teslas, and most cannons. put your silo close to the town hall because chances are if you don't put them close together the defense towers won't be able to reach both and silos are almost as important as the town hall. don't put all your defenses together because it will be easily catapulted. a half dead monster bunker is as good as dead if you catapult it. try to put 2-3 rows of blocks because monsters will try to go around it if possible. 1 row blocks won't do anything but stall the monsters for about 5 seconds. don't upgrade your blocks to level 2 until it you are in the millions because upgrading 25 blocks to level 2 could cost you a upgrade to level 4 town hall and I think most of you will prefer the level 4 town hall. try to upgrade your defenses and resources evenly exp: don't have a level 8 resource and a level 2 cannon or something. place booby traps on the place monsters will go through so they trip over them. test where they go with monster baiter or wild monster tribe monsters. don't leave a monster bunker empty, that is as good as a map room or any other defense less towers. don't really care about the defense less towers, most of them at most take 5 minutes to repair. to stop a attack from a bunch of project x's and 10 million putty rage which makes them faster, do more damage and invincible for 40 seconds which can kill any building in less than 2 seconds not exaggerating, fill your monster bunker with octoooze and they will take a second to kill a octoooze which will stall time and their 40 seconds will be up. plus you will not unlock project x's untill the late twenties which is pretty early to the mid thirties so noobs don't dream about it.

theres no such hack for back yard monsters only a glitch, that was patched. there is practically no hack for it. there was some appemts for hacking but back yard monsters sucirity is so high even one of the best hacking devices got detected.and i dont know why you would want to hack, its easy to level up, but i know what you guys mean i hate how it takes SO long to build or upgrade stuff. but thats what makes the game fun! :D

for all of you that don't know and are saying ridiculous things like BYM is unhackable and there is no cheat, need to do a little more research. Every game is hackable and cheat able. BYM is hackable, but cuts down on some hacks like shiny or unlimited resources. If you try to hack those then you will get a warning on your screen stating that you are attempting to hack the game.

you dont need unlimited shiny or resources cuz u can do fine by upgrading Harvesters and Silos Im level 39 and had around 50,000,000 of each resources. Tip:F you have level six town hall upgrade map room to two cuz nobody gona attack you except people in ya range and wild monsters.Wild monsters are easy to defend unlike wild monsters invasion one and two. how to get lots of resource when you have map room two. If ya lucky (I am cuz lots of Kozus yard arond ma base)attack Kozu.Dont build outpost until ya silos full.Unlock D.A.V.E. and use them and Drull to attack Kozu since there is lots of level ten Harvesters and a BIG yard.Kozus around my base each one when i destroy each one I get around 4000000 each.That adds to 20000000.since theres five of em:D no tips for noobs.

and five Kozu and a Dreadnaut surrounded ma base for map rooom two.If you do have one dont attack Dreadnaut I once did and I lost. Note He had a almost full yard of tesla and lasers In total I lost twenty D.A.V.E. and ten Zafreeti the other ten Zafreeti had nothing to heal so it let the teslas hit them Note lasers cant hit em after the daves died. It was impossible to defeat em post more comments if you think Dreadnaut hack the limit of teslas and lasers.
Note for everyone: Dreadnaut hack teslas and lasers. Kozu hack crates. Legionnaie or what ever its name is hacked snipers and cannons except in beginning. Abunakki hack the limit to building things.( The first time I attacked it, he had two lasers and level three town hall.you can only build that much when your town hall level five)Tribes are unfair. Comment if you think its unfair.
