CityVille guide to building headquarters and franchises
CityVille is the fastest growing Facebook time of all time, the newest release by Zynga, the creator of FarmVille and FrontierVille. It's a fun city-building game where you build houses, farm just like in FarmVille in order to earn goods, build businesses which you can supply goods to and make money from, and ship goods to and from your friends via boats or trains. One of the biggest, most unique features in the game, though, is turning your business into a franchise. By doing this, you can place your own variety of business in your friends' cities, supply your various businesses via your franchise headquarters, and make large amounts of money. In fact, franchising might very well be your single biggest tool in CityVille for making a whole lot of money. So how do you franchise? What are some tips to make the best of it? Read on for tips on how to build a mega conglomerate and get rich.
To build a franchise in someone else's city, first, you need to unlock the ability to build a franchise by completing a set of missions. However, you accomplish this very very early in the game, so I don't think anything needs to be written about this.
After that, you need to have a friend who has an available empty plot (or more than one empty plot) so that you can build a franchise on it. Click on the empty plot when you're in their town, and choose what business you want to build there. You will be prompted by the game to build one of your franchises there.
After you build your first franchise, you'll be prompted to build a headquarters. You don't need to build it next to a street, and it will be unaffected by any nearby decorations, so it doesn't really matter where you build it. Your headquarters will be used to supply your franchises in friends' cities and collect bonuses. Each franchise will cost half as much to supply as your hometown version of the franchise does (for example, a coffee shop in your town costs 100 goods to supply, and your coffee franchise in your friend's town costs 50 goods to supply)
To make more and more money off of your franchise, keep expanding into more and more friends' cities. To find more friends whose cities you can expand to, simply keep adding more and more people who play CityVille. The more you add, the higher your chances of finding someone with an empty plot of land that they can spare for you.
Allow people to build franchises in your city as well. Build more and more empty plots of land in order to do this. The more empty plots you build and franchises you allow, the higher the chance that your friends will return the favor for you.
The more of the same type of franchise you build in your friends' cities, the taller your headquarters building will grow. You can build absolutely MASSIVE skyscrapers by building mega-franchises, ESPECIALLY building a Tower Eats business franchise (however, this requires a LOT of money to do. But if you want a 100-story building, do this.)
Work on building up your franchises as your first priority. Complete missions that have to do with leveling up your franchise and building your franchise. This is what will really get you far in CityVille.

Why does my franchise only have 1 star next to it. How do you get more stars.

I think you must ask your friend to delet your current franchise in his town and then he must put an empty lot again for your new franchise.

You can't build your franchise until your friends accept the building you've placed on their land. If you place one on and they deny it, it doesn't count towards your franchise HQ building.

I started to build my coffee HQ but ran out of energy at build 5. Now i have gone back into the game and my semi-built coffee hq is gone and only "scafolding" is around a vacant plot. I cant move,remove or put anything else over the top if it. Anyone tell me ehat happened?

cant open franchise hq untill you do the mission that requires you to open a store in samville then the hq will b in inventory also you need more ffriends to open more empty lots
i do have the same problem. i do have only 1 hq building, even though i have franchised 4 different kinds of business and 10 stores at my neighbors'. i'm now level 32 and very embarrassed to have only 1 hq building.. :(
anyways, you can only place 20 lots in your city. if you want to place more lots, you have to delete the ones that you already have first.

i have 8 neighbour business on my land only but it said reached max franchise. I delete 1 by 1 and refresh..until 5th franchise i delete..i can put 1 empty slot again.but after that it said reached max franchise again. I end up just having 4 franchise max on my city. Help !!!
i'm having the same problem tonight, i've deleted about 15 franchises because i thought in all the empty lot placing i gunked up the game some how and i'm just trying to make room for a tower eats franchise. but it still won't let me build a lot, granted i'm not down to 4, but i've read you granted 26. i hope this stays true and it's just a short glitch problem

I have a Bicycle shop franchise and the Seafood franchise, but I only have the Bicycle HQ.. my fiancee accepted my seafood franchise, so I don't understand why I've not gotten the HQ for it. It's been a couple of days now.

I have the same problem. I have bakery, bicycle shop and handbag store franchises and my friends accepted them but i have only bakery and bicycle HQ. and i havent them in inventory. My brother plays cityville on the same computer and he doesnt have problems.

I have made 1 HQ so far.Am at 24th level and now am unable to place an empty slot for building a franchise.It shows a message like "you have reached maximum franchises for your city".what should I do for that???

I deleted a franchise that my friend had built in my city so that I could put another empty lot in it's place but when I went to place it it still said Reached Max. Franchise. What do I have to do to be able to place an empty lot I don't want to delete anything else unless I am sure it willl work.

I do not understand why anybody would want their Franchise head quaters.... they do not add storage and take up valuble space.... and can hide things when they start growing if you are not carefull.... you can always access your franchises, the game lets you know by adding the icon on the left of the screen and you can always check them in the inventory/collections tab
...... just my thoughts, some people are having problems with them, some may not know you do not need to build them

Once you have a franchise in a friends' city, you will find the HQ building in your inventory. I find no point in building the HQ building. It takes up too much space and you can still operate your franchises just as fine without these huge buildings. I think they are just for looks.
